From the very beginning of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a wide array of personalities, and a gripping narrative showcasing celestial beings, evil spirits, and dark forces expanding in strength within the city.
Warning: Spoilers for the latest installment of this adventure follow below.
The Warrior Group Introduced
The latest chapter concluded with a major cliffhanger and presented the initial group of heroes who will branch out from the main group to undertake their independent quest, separate from the other two tables.
This warrior group features Teor (brought to life by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (the cast member), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the start that maintaining everyone at the same party would be impossible.
Hence, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Overture, connecting the personal journeys before splitting into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Strategists, and Seekers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
Per the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who enjoy a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven story mode where peaceful solutions are scarce.
At first glance, characters like the hesitant healer the cleric might seem out of place, but the events of the latest installment make it clear why these specific adventurers are best suited for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
First, the party knows exactly where to proceed after a intense opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose demise initiated the story’s plot—used the foes for his own means, breaking into the secret base, striking Thimble, and swiping all the enchanted items to sell off.
The traitor then settled his debts and ran away to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the city, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each member has a specific drive to depart the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and trusted friend, seeks vengeance.
- The adventurer knows the northern area and advises that it is a dangerous location.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to execute Teor and instead freed him, have no other options.
- Yet, their reputation as prominent individuals in House Halovar could enable the group enter areas they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter pledged a life debt to The savior for his deliverance and will now accompany him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are sought by the authorities that control the city for a range of causes, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The rogue and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and Wicander defied House Halovar and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the clan.
This leaves them few options but to head to the remote area in pursuit of the traitor.
What’s Next?
Based on episode three’s follow-up content, we find out that the warrior group won’t be around the following episode, leaving the remaining eight players to assemble the Seekers and Schemers groups.
Viewers can expect learning which players will be in which group in the story’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
